ViewCatcher with Composition Grid

Description

Classic artist’s ViewCatcher wtih an addition*! The composition insert includes a Golden Ratio grid and a lighter single proportion Rule of Thirds grid. Hold these so your art work (or the view of what you are photographing if using this for photos) fills the open window and, with one eye closed, use the grid to help determine where objects/elements might be moved or placed.

It can be used as a traditional ViewCatcher as well. The 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ ViewCatcher is colored a middle gray to help you judge value. Hold it at different distances and adjust the opening, holding it horizontally or vertically to help find just the right composition.

*The insert is not a professional produced item. I am printing them here and gluing a more durable layer to the printed side to protect it but the non-industrial clear inserts do get subtle scratches just from going through the printer. I have crafted a protective envelope for this tool so keep it in there when not in use to extend the life of the insert.
